About

Hi!

I'm Christian, a research scientist working remotely in the Computational Neuroethology Department at the Max Planck Institute for Neurobiology of Behavior in Bonn, Germany.

After studying biology here in Oldenburg, not too far away from the North Sea coast of Germany, I moved to Frankfurt, where I graduated in 2009 with a PhD in Neurobiology which I received for my work on retinal anatomy at the Max Planck Institute for Brain Research. As a postdoc, I was trained in retinal electrophysiology at the University of Washington in Seattle, before I worked as a staff scientist in the Visual Neuroscience Lab at the University of Oldenburg.

Today, I combine my knowledge about the anatomy and physiology of the retina to understand the neural circuitries together with the visual signals they generate and send to the brain.
